The Riverbank Centre, pictured above, is the home of the Whangarei Theatre Company, and was built by company members.

The centre contains a main auditorium, the smaller Hatea room, and catering facilities as well as a workshop and dressing rooms.

The main auditorium features tiered seating for 160, an orchestra pit, control room and a large stage.

The smaller Hatea Room features seating for 100, and a stage. It is used for dining before performances, and is ideal for private functions such as meetings and parties.

The facilities of the Riverbank Centre are available for hire, and packages can be developed to include the use of the company's technical equipment, subject to availability. For more information on hiring and rates please email or contact us through the theatre in Reyburn House Lane.

Wardrobe and properties hire are also available, with an extensive range of items.

For wardrobe hire Alison Sargent will deal with hire by Schools, Kindred Societies and the Public. Items may be collected/returned to the theatre on Thursdays between 4p.m. and 6.30p.m. Telephone 437 0352 to make arrangements. Ajay Fryer will deal with hire by WTC Members and Schools. Telephone 027 336 2574 to make arrangements. Current WTC Members will pay half the cost of hire to the Public. Both Ajay and Alison require THREE day’s notice. You may be declined if you phone in the morning for an evening’s hire. Items must be cleaned before they are returned.
